"Secret to Success: Goal Setting"

Intro

Writing down goals and things you need to do to achieve them--is the most important thing when it comes to achieving your dreams. Less than 5% of people write clear goals and action plan for their dreams. These are the people that end up achieving their goals while others don't.

1. Write Down Your Goals

Write down your goals in point form. All your goals in the area you want to focus on. Be specific with the deadline. When do you want this achieved by?

Then, put A, B, or C on the margin for each goal. A is the goal that is extremely important to you and that you want and need the most. C is something that you'd like to have but is not something that you really want or need. Everything else in between falls into B.

2. Write Down the Possibilities

Write down your A goals. Under each goal write down EVERY POSSIBLE WAY you can achieve that goal. Serious and silly. You need to get ALL your ideas on paper. This is important.

3. Rank the Possibilities

Rank each of those possibilites as A, B, or C. A as in essential to achieve the goal, C as in helpful but not necessary, and B for everything else.

4. Rewrite Each Goal

Write down the goals in present form. "I can sing in the whistle register fluently by July this year." Below each goal, list the A possibilities. And THESE, are the things. you. are. going. to. do.

5. Daily Lists the Night Before

Make daily lists of what you need to do to get your goals met--the night before.

I do this on my calendar. In point form, I write down the things that I will do the next day.

Final Word

Goal setting is SUPER important!! A dream is just a dream. In order to make it happen, we need to WRITE THINGS DOWN. "A dream is just a dream. A goal is a dream with a plan and a deadline", according to Harvey MacKay.

Make goal-setting a habit. Starting from today.
